This year Mergon went green for St Patrick’s weekend at its three locations, Mergon International, Ireland, Mergon Corporation, South Carolina, USA and Mergon Czech Republic.
This was Mergon’s first year to join in the Tourism Ireland “Global Greening” festivities. The annual initiative, which sees a host of major landmarks and iconic sites around the world turn green for St Patrick’s Day has grown from strength to strength, with a number of new landmarks taken part this year.
Other sites along with Mergon which turned green for the first time in 2014 include Canada’s famous ski resort of Whistler, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe, the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen near Zurich and a host of sites in Chicago.
The new sites joined some ‘old favourites’ which have gone green in previous years include the Pyramids in Egypt, the ‘Welcome’ sign in Las Vegas and the Sydney Opera House,
Here at Mergon International, employees and their families were invited to family fun evening to mark the occasion. Crazy Craig, the Mad Scientist entertained the kids and adults alike and afterwards everyone joined in the countdown to switch on the lights.
Mergon hopes it dazzled its three locations with its bright green lights over St Patrick’s weekend.
